| SURREAL VISONS VIRTUAL EXHIBITION I have been drawing and painting since I was a child, and received my formal training and my BFA from Art Center College of Design, in Pasadena. Beautiful scenery, figures, animals, especially birds really fascinate me. FEELINGS are my fuel…I see images and things that I LOVE, especially in nature. I wrap myself around them, and can feel them and therefore absolutely know I need to paint them! I love painting Plein Air… to see the day transform a scenery in front of my eyes, is so magical, is so SURREAL. Time restrictions however, make me rely on my camera to capture an image, so I can interpret it and turn it into a painting. My favorite time to paint is in the "still" of the night, when all is quiet, it is a feeling of "zen". Specific to Nature is my PASSION for painting landscapes and "sky scapes", especially clouds. "Big Skies" represent freedom and "wings" …an endless realm for me to explore and ultimately escape to a place of peace as I paint. Original Works by Renate Lichter
